Union In Action, Inc is a 501(c)(3) public charity whose mission is to support the productive evolution of healthcare and the capacity of our systems of care to improve the quality of health of individuals and communities using the principles of integration, collaboration, and orchestration.

Union In Action (UIA) is currently recruiting representatives from diverse professional disciplines to serve on our Interdisciplinary Advisory Councils (IAC).

The IAC’s will serve as models of the collaborative resource communities that are one of the foundations of the UIA program development framework, and make substantive contributions to UIA programming.

UIA is seeking professionals from healthcare (medicine, nursing, other therapeutic disciplines), education, psychology, behavior science, developmental science, social work and organizational behavior; we are open to others who feel they can contribute to the UIA mission.

Meet our board

Steven Merahn, MD

Board Chairman

Dr. Merahn is a physician-executive with more than 30 years’ diverse career experience in organizational leadership and program management spanning the public and private sector, including public health, strategic communications, publishing and healthcare information services and digital media, hospital and integrated delivery networks, health plans, accountable care and systems-based care delivery.  He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and has extensive experience with clinical programs for special needs communities.

Linda Seligson

Board Member

Linda is currently the Director of Advancement for YAI, a nationally recognized provider of services to adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Prior to her current role she lead Corporate and Foundation Support for JCCA/NY, and has more than 20 years experience with corporate and foundation relations, business development grants administration, strategic planning and program management. Her professional roots began in child health program management in the New York City Department of Health, and she served as the Deputy Assistant Commissioner for Communicare, the city’s efforts to expand access to primary care services.

Seth Faber, MD FAAP

Board Member

Dr. Faber is a pediatrician at Child Health Associates in Metro Detroit Michigan. A graduate of Wayne State University School of Medicine, he trained in pediatrics at William Beaumont Children’s Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. In addition to practicing primary care pediatrics for the past 15 years, Dr.Faber has been on the clinical faculty teaching pediatric residents and has served on Beaumont Hospital’s Autism Evaluation Team.
